Hi there! We’re Matt Jones and Mary Florian — a happily retired couple who split our time between two places we love: Oriental, North Carolina, and San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.

 

We originally started this little website just to share photos of our beautiful new home-away-from-home in San Juan del Sur with our American friends and family back in the States. We wanted everyone to see the colorful sunsets, the friendly smiles, and the "tranquilo" life that we so love.

 

But something wonderful happened along the way — we’ve made so many kind, welcoming friends here in Nicaragua too!  So now this site has become a two-way window: a way for our Nicaraguan friends to peek at our quiet life in Oriental, NC, and a way for our American loved ones to keep up with our adventures in Nicaragua.

 

Since we’re retired (and honestly enjoying the slower pace!), we probably won’t be updating the site super often. Thanks so much for understanding — we’re just happy to share a few glimpses of the two beautiful places we call home.
